Hey everyone,

Lilu is a little over 2 and she's had this for a while, but it doesnt seem to be bothering her. Some of her paw pads look as if hair/fiber is growing out of them. This is most likely from her being in the dog park twice a day, every day.

Just wanted to know if this is a normal thing and how does everyone treat this? I do have mushers paw, but don't use it as much as I should.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

A picture would help - is the hair coming out of the pads themselves or between the pads?

Its coming from the paws. Its not really hair its like the paw has cracked and looks like fiber will take a pic of it soon and upload, but it looks like this. After searching I found that they call this fuzzy feet

Don't know anything about this - have you tried something like Musher's Secret?

It's most likely hyperkeratosis. You can trim the fibers down. It's a common occurrence.

You can use moisturizers to help keep the pads softer. Walking on harder surfaces (like concrete) will help wear the fibers down as well.
