Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

The name of the kennel is in the article and I think there were 72 all together but the first article I read this morning said they had to put a few to sleep.

I read that too. On the humane society's website, they have a link to donate, if anyone's interested. I'm donating a little bit. It looks like the "kennel" website is down now, probably so that they wouldn't get so much hate mail or something.

It just breaks my heart and makes me so angry at the same time. No one should treat any other living thing like that, but huskies have a special place in my heart that makes it much more tragic. I wish I was close enough to help them by fostering or something. And the person behind all of it deserves to be shot. Ugh.

I saw that. I immediately looked up the website, and it said "forbidden." I assumed the same, that they took it down because of the hate mail. What's even worse is that the kid was involved. Makes me sick!

People like that should be thrown into a pit of hot wax and made to stay there forever.

This just makes me feel sick! How can the humans even stand to live in a house with a dead goat!?! These people have issues! It sounds like the abuse was discovered by accident... I'm just glad the little boy and the dogs have been removed from this horror!

Yeah, that disgusted me the most. If you want to live like that, that's gross as it is, but a KID?! Who knows what kind of disease he could have gotten from a rotting goat carcass!

I wish I lived closer. i would easily house some of those babies. I think that if any of us can, that are closer we should. Those poor huskies need some TLC

Yup it's Howl N Wind Siberians. They were a very reputable breeder for like 30 years and did showing and sledding. It's unbelievable that this happened.

We put in a foster application so we're waiting to see if transport can be arranged.

They need Purina Dog Chow and lots of volunteers!

I found this

Now the hard work begins as rescuers search for foster and adoptive homes
while healing the sick and injured dogs in their care. The Humane
Society has issued a plea for donations, and the first priority is food.
If you are able to donate, or to foster or adopt a dog, please contact
the Fond du Lac Humane Society at 652 Triangle Road Fond du Lac, WI
54935. Phone: (920) 922-8873.

I just googled to find the rescue's site and it has a donation link. I haven't seen an update yet about the huskies on the site, but I figure everyone's really busy with them.

68 Huskies removed from a Kennel Empty
PostSubject: Re: 68 Huskies removed from a Kennel   68 Huskies removed from a Kennel EmptySun May 13, 2012 4:22 am

Update from earlier Saturday morning:

So much work to do -- we apologize for not responding to questions and comments. All of the huskys are doing well. They are very thin but are all back to being hydrated : ) We have had several rescues and shelters contact us and will be calling all very, very soon. The most important thing right now is the health and well being of these very sweet dogs. A huge thank you goes out to Charter Co...mmunications and Diamond Auto for helping us on a moments notice with trucks and drivers to transport all the dogs! Lillians of FdL (Main St), Head to Tail (Satterlee St), and the Forest Mall (Johnson St) are drop sites for donations for the dogs. We are going to go through a lot of Purina adult dog chow. We will also have adoption applications at these 3 sites as we are taking applications now, but are trying to keep the traffic and phone calls at the shelter to a minimum. Thank you everyone for all of your help!!! Our next hurdle is grooming...arggg...all 69 need to be seriously groomed and their coats are very, very bad...it is going to be a huge project. If anyone has any ideas we would appreciate it : )

They're currently looking for people to help transport the Huskies to rescues and other shelters..

You can make a donation here; http://www.fdlhumane.org/make-donation.iml

Thats what I thought too, Kristina. Based on some of the comments on fb, I think they're talking more like bathing and brushing for them. If I had to bathe 70 Avas, I think I would lose my sanity...Poor babies.
