| So I'm outside with the dogs at around 6am this morning and the same busybody man that asked if he was part wolf stops again today in front of my house and proceeds to tell me that Balon can't be AKC because his tail is curled and carried to one side. OMG really? So I proceed to inform him about the breed, AGAIN! I told him that Balon is indeed an AKC purebred husky and can show him the papers if need be, BUT I also enlightened him about the fact that because he carries his tail to one side he could not be shown in shows. But that is all he can't do. He may not be show quality, but indeed he is a purebred. I told him that many husky's carry their tails to one side or another. Some have bushier tails like Balon, some don't. I asked him if he would like to read one of my husky books and he said no thanks. I swear this man needs a hobby, or a husky |

| Yea some people really need to do their leg work about the breed before opening their mouth lol. Also That guy sounds like a creeper.
I had a gentleman at the dog park the other day tell me to go out in the middle of the forest and have Thane walk ahead of me off lead and then hide behind a tree when he's not looking. That will scare him because he knows he can't survive without me and he'll have to find me. *sigh* |

| I had a gentleman tell me Huskies are ONLY good for sleds and they DO NOT make good pets. I sat staring at him for about 10 seconds before I realized he was serious and I walked away speechless. |

| Well it is creepy he actually went and looked it up in the standard, but he obviously don't know that "faults" doesn't mean a dog is not purebred. Heck no dog, even show dogs, would qualify then! Every dog has faults, just depends on how many for show dogs.
I've had people ask me why Elara's tail doesn't curl. No one's ever tried to tell me they were siberians though. I did have one lady who owns a husky at a husky meet ask if Elara was a mix! She's so used to seeing tall, short coated, curly tailed, blue eyed, open faced (open mask, not goggles like what Elara has) huskies that she honestly thought Elara was some other breed! _________________ -Sara |

| We had a lady stop us on the street to admire Tika, then when she asked us her breed, we said siberian husky, she said, ok, mixed with what? US: Nothing, she's a pure siberian husky Her: Oh because I have a husky, a real one Us: This is a real one Her: no but mine is black and white with blue eyes, so you know he's a real husky.
we walked away. theres just no talking to some peopel. _________________ Is this about the cake problem? What's the matter with you mathematicians, cake is never a problem. - Professor Lazlo

| Oh ya I've had people say that I can't have a real husky because of his coloration and because he doesn't have blue eyes. In fact its usually: Them: husky/ mal mix? And me saying..no it's pure bred husky them: sure... |

| I know, I'm reading all your answers and I'm laughing. I think the guy is also put off by Balon's coloring and goggles, which he may or may not lose. I mean I guess that is the next thing he will comment on. Honestly people need to shut up. Another person said my lab wasn't pure because she is so small. She is a petite 54-55 lbs, again really? I have the papers. If I wanted show dogs I would've bought them. And I get the "they don't make good pets" one all the time too. Seriously I will say it again, Balon has been a far easier pup then Ruby (lab) ever was. Though I do love my little hellion lol. And affectionate, both are equally so, they both come running whenever we get home, they both kiss, they both seek us out. WHATEVER I say, next time he stops by I'm gonna tell him he couldn't possibly be a "real" human, show me your papers. |

I think you should ask him about his papers that would be really funny! And Rue has developed goggles as well, I kind of love them they are dark black and it looks like he fell for the binocular gag |

| This is too funny . . . . I have this one lady in my neighborhood that used to stop me every morning to tell me how badly behaved husky's are. The whole time her ankle biter (sorry not sure what it is, but it is small and yappy) is running around her legs, growling, barking and lunging and Saphire just sits patiently and quietly at my feet. Finally the last time she brought it up I just looked at her and said "You can't fix Stupid can you" and walked away. Now she goes inside when she sees us coming. |
