Plz some help - how many cups a day Empty
PostSubject: Plz some help - how many cups a day   Plz some help - how many cups a day EmptySat Jan 12, 2013 1:26 am

I am thinking of switching my 4 month old puppy to orijen puppy food. How many cups a day shall I feed him? I really don't trust those guidelines on the back.
Anyone please, your answers are appreciated.

I have never had a puppy but my full grown girl eats about 3 cups a day. My boy who is smaller eats about two cups a day. I would think a puppy would only need about a cup. Sorry im not much help in this area but lots of others have puppies and I'm sure they will chime in and help out. Welcome to the forum he sure is a cutie!

We need to know how big your puppy is and how old it is before we can give an informed opinion.

At 4 months my pup weighed about 20 pounds, so if he's similar to that weight, and if Orijen has similar ingredients and protein/carb levels etc as to Taste of the Wild than a cup a day should be fine.

Yes it has similar ingredients. He's currently @14 pounds so wouldn't mind having him weight little more. I guess I'll feed him half a cup 2x a day.

That sounds like a good plan to me. If you notice him getting a little too pudgy cut it down! Tehehe! Razz Adorable pup by the way, welcome to the forum.
