Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

| Necroing a super old thread as I have not been active on forums for years.
An update of the not good variety. I made the difficult decision on March 15th, 2021 to euthanize my sweet girl at the age of 8nyeara old.
She had a tumor on her abdomen/thigh that we tried to have removed on March 2nd but instead ended up just having it sent off to biopsy. She ended up back at the vet for a week long stay after escaping her cone (in true siberian fashion) and licking her incision for a week. We transferred her to a specialty vet for a CT scan to potentially amputate. CT showed a very rare and invasive tumor that had made its way into her body wall and amputation would not completely remove the entirety of the tumor and she would need reconstructive surgery and it would be a complicated surgery. We brought her home that weekend to heal from surgery and live out whatever time we had with no removal of the tumor as to not put her through more suffering.
Woke up Monday the 15th to her whole incision (like 9 inches) completely split inside and out and there would be no recovery from that.
I do not know if there is anyone here that would still remember her but.
She was 8 years old and 2 months. |

| I think I remember Mechta - wasn't she a beautiful, really dark red, almost entirely, face included? And you are/were a friend of wpskier from NYC with Dizzy? I'm so sorry to hear of her passing |

| Whether we remember her or not and I'm sorry I don't we can empathize with the decision to put our best friend to sleep. I'm so sorry to hear that she's had to wait for you at the foot of the bridge. _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford |

Yes, she was! And I was friends with her and dizzy though we've not spoke in years. I appreciate all of the condolences. |

| I am so sorry for your loss. I had to put one of mine down due to bone cancer a few months ago. He was 9. Around 8-9 years of age seems to be a common time for stuff like that to crop up if it's going to unfortunately. While life was way too short I know your time with her was amazing. |
