Hello,

I asked many things about my husky before, and she is doing very good job and never made accidents anymore inisde.
BUT, I brought 12 weeks old boston terrier(same age as husky) about 2 weeks ago, and that puppy is going crazy now.
SHE ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS POOPS IN HER CRATE EVERY NIGHT EVERY EVERY NIGHT. its been almost 10 days right now. Never misses pooping in her crate.

I did exactly same training to Boston Terrier as I did to Yuki, but I do not think this is working.
Whenever I researched about this problem, people just say do more this this this this.
To be honest, I did everything that I researched.

Crate training? Yes, she loves it and she feels safe, and she always go there when she needs to rest.

Crate space? Yes, i put divider inside of crate so she can have only space with just standing, lying down, and turn around.

Feeding? Yes, She eats 3 meals a day and she eats her last meal 5 hours before she goes to bed

Going out more? Yes, I take her to bath room at least 10 times a day. Whenever she wakes up, after play time, after meals, before go to bed, middle of the night, and I just take her every single 15 to 30 minutes.

Maybe you need to take to the vet? Yes, I took her to the vet last friday, and had no problem. The vet says shes extremely fine.

Enough exercise? Yes, every 30 minutes she does stair exercise with me (since I cannot take her to the outside for walk just like Husky).

Take her out middle of the night? Yes, at least twice during the middle of the night. Whenever I take her to outside during the night time, she only pees, well.. sometimes poops. However, she poops in her crate no matter what.

Well.. I really want to cry now.. i am totally restless and lack of sleeps.

please...please.. help me.

What is the consistency of her poop when she's going during the day and in the middle of the night? What are you feeding her?

Only during the night. She does not poop or pee in her crate during the day. And I feed her natural balance.

I think she meant what is the consistency of the actual stool? Is it solid, watery, that sticky liquidy dark stuff that smells like decay, is it yellow, browm, green, dark, bright etc..

If she's got normal poop, and the vet checked for UT stuff and allergies, Id say you need to work on her holding it a little more in between potty times indoors, and let her out 3 or 4 times a night in the mean time.

A Boston Terrier is way smaller than a husky, and is going to process its smaller amount of food quicker, and burn calories more rapidly, and as such, create waste more often.

Are you getting up at specific times during the night? Perhaps switch the last time to a 1/2 hour or hour later to catch them as they need to poop? What are the time increments they're going out at night?

Have you put a cue word to pottying? As idiotic as it sounds I put words to "potty" (which is a general do your business) and "Go poop" (which is specific to that action) and it has worked really well... When forming the cue, you have to catch it as it's happening... So when you do take the puppy out throughout the day and they poop, give them the cue word then praise and reward. Start watching them for behaviors which usually lead up to the action such as circling or sniffing to help build the cue.

That's exactly what I meant Smile

This method works wonder. I used to set alarms to keep my puppies on very specific and consistent schedules at night, and they all potty trained very very easily, with minimal problems.

alright, so I think I try not to sleep very well for few days, and record when the puppy poops.. and set the alarm after that so i can set up the specific schedule for her during the night! I think that method will work! i will try that today!

Thank you very much

I hate to get graphic with you, but let me explain why this answer isn't what I'm looking for, lol. I need you to describe it. Is it firm? Or is it mushy when you touch it? Is it dark? Or is it light and almost greenish in color?

The reason is that I'm thinking she could be reacting to her food. Vets don't check for mushy stool, they check for disease, worms, or infection. They won't care if the poo is mushy. However, if it's mushy, she could be having trouble digesting her food and she's going in her crate because when the need to poop comes, it's urgent and she can't warn you. Natural Balance has a lot of grain and fillers in it. The main ingredient in it is actually brown rice, not chicken (chicken is inclusive of water. Since it is a dry food, when you take out the water, the actual weight of it knocks it down on the list). She could be reacting to the grain in it and if you switch her food, she might have more control.

However, as Eric and Kristina pointed out: she is also very young and very small. It could just be the number of times she's going out in the middle of the night.
