Hello everyone, i'm new here and I hope you guys can help me!

I recently acquired a four month old female Siberian Husky puppy, she is the sweetest dog until it comes to feeding time... She is fine with you petting her head but as soon as your hand gets near her mouth or the bowl she stops eating and growls or eats faster, She will also growl if you attempt to remove her bowl or pull//push her away from it. I have other dogs and there are also children around and this behavior will not be tolerated. I have started hand feeding her to see if it helps but would really appreciate other advice and tips! Smile also she has never been deprived of food and is made to wait before she can eat....Thanks

Hi there, you could try to hold the food in your hand (make a fist with the food inside) and make her sit and wait till she looks you in the eyes and then say good and let her eat it out of your hand. I only have this problem when I feed my dog raw meat. What I do for my dog is I will try to take the meat and is she snaps or growls, I growl back and make like a huff sound and she will back up and put her head down (though I don't recommend it cause she could snap and you could get hurt). I have had my dog sense she was 13 weeks old, I and her have a very strong way of communicating like how wolves do such as huffs, growls, eye contact, body langue, and feelings. I do find hand feeding to be the best way to handle food aggression when I handle dogs/wolf-dogs. Good luck and hope that may help. Smile
