Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

| My pup ned has a habit of 'talking' to me quite a lot. A lot of the time, if i talk at him, he'll make some sort of noise in response. when it gets to feeding time, though, he starts making a sort of 'mini-howl'. ive read that some huskies can "woo woo" when they're happy, and Ned is a total pig. if i let him, eating would be his favourite hobby (especially when its tuna & keepers mix time), so is there any particular way i can determine if this is a happy noise or a "put my food down, woman!" demand? he always seems happy, complete with fully wagging tail, but i just want to be sure!

| I'm not sure about the talking my old dog would talk whenever she felt like it and loved to just argue with you. She had a certain sound she made when we took to long with her food and i swear it sounded like "NOW!" if he think he is being demanding then i would try a sit before he got his food. |

| Harry gets really excited for going on a ride or walk and starts woo/ing. If i make him do too many tricks for his food he'll get a bit impatient and bark a little. Harrys impatients comes from being trained with 2-3 tricks and I'm breaking the routine by asking him to do more. Its definitely different than his excited woo-ing. But his tail is wagging and his booty is wiggling in both cases. The only difference is the bark vs the woo.
From your description, its hard to say which it is. Does he only do it for food? Or if youre slow geting out the doorfor a walk?
Im a big fan of making them sit/roll over/shake and stay for their food. Harry will sit quietly and we can leave the room but he wont eat the food until we say okay. As soon as the food hits the floor he quiets up though. |

| Bane is the same way. We have him to the point that when we feed him he knows to sit quietly. We will ask him to say please and he does this low growl/woo thing with a twist of his head all at the same time. He's a talker everywhere else in life, though. |
