We are in China and have recently rescued a husky pup who was in a poor way. His fur has just started to come back and we were wondering if anyone could help us specify his breed. He's our first and he is fantastic, we are blessed to have found him!

Hi Clair and welcome to the forum! From those first couple of pictures I wouldn't have hazarded anything other than it was probably a dog. As time passed he began to look a lot better - I think he's one lucky dog to have found such a caring owner.

Partway through, the picture with the coat, I'd have said partly Husky with a lot of something else - the ears were just way too big!

In that bottom picture, you've got yourself a handsome boy - who I'd say still has some growing to do - but it's safe to say that he's got a lot of Siberian Husky in him ... and I'm not even going to hazard what the rest might be. Rott or GSD possibly - @amymeme???

Thank you so much!
Its been a long 4 months with treatment, socialising and training. He's a little Storm with great potential Wink
He's grown through awkward phases since we found him on the street, both psychologically and physically. Hopefully in two months he'll be healthy enough to vaccinate.
We just want to identify what he is so that we can best meet his needs. Now that he's resembling a husky more, we felt that you were the best guys to ask Smile
Thank you again, we really appreciate receiving experienced opinions as he's been a big learning curve compared to our two other pups Smile Smile Smile

He looks very much like a Siberian husky to me. I don't really see any other breeds in him. I've been around these dogs a long time, even to shows. That's pretty much all that I can see. Just my opinion.

He looks all husky to me. One heck of a transformation. That rough of a start in life there will be things about him that may never come in fully like a husky would. His coat may always be a bit different. He's come a long way and you've done a fantastic thing.

My guess would be all husky, just not from the best parents. does not mean he is still not great!

MY guess is full husky of the mish-matched parents.....ie not a show dog with great lineage parents. Not a bad thing great dog IMO.  Great transformation looks like he had a severe case of mange there or skin issues so I love to see that coat looking so great! Thanks for being there for him!
