| Bella (one year old) is having some serious issues with soiling the crate. I knew that she wasn't crate trained when I got her and I thought that she had learn. Well, two days in a row, she has soiled the crate in the morning and today she soiled the carpet and then the inside of her crate WHILE WE WERE AT HOME! I think she is extremely comfortable outside the crate and doesn't think of the crate as her "den". Ava (seven years old) doesn't soil the crate..nothing....Then again, she is used to it. She lays in it without any problems. My son walks them in the morning before going to school and he says that sometimes they both go poop other times just pee. I get home, usually, no later than 8am and Bella has a crate full of poop (and sometimes pee) but Ava is fine. Now, I'm worried if I get out of work late (medical emergencies do not know time!) that Bella's crate will be covered in poop. I also don't have easy access to clean her so it makes it difficult to clean her up after her messes...Suggestions, please! |

| Denise, I'm totally new at this so forgive my attempt to help you if you already know this. My pup is just over eight weeks old so I'm totally learning his "tells." He's getting very good at housetraining, however he did go in his crate two nights (two of the five nights we had him.) He goes outside almost on cue, but one night, he was whimpering in his crate and I've been trying to ignore it (not easy at all!!!) When he started scratching at the door, I waitied for a pause in his whining and checked on him and he soiled the crate. Our vet called us later that day after we brought him in for his baseline first visit and he had a parasite. I'm taking this into account as to why he went in his crate, he probably just couldn't hold it anymore. Like I said, I'm just learning myself, however does this sound like what your're going through?? Good luck! |
