Hi there everyone, I am currently in the market for a new vacuum. The problem I run into is of course a vacuum that can withstand the Husky hair for longer than three years. Is this am unimaginable request? I have the Pet Bissell and am no longer impressed (the hair is killing it). Does anyone have a recommendation, preferably that of a vacuum that will last longer than three years? Thank you!

If you can afford it then I say get the Dyson Animal. I'm not sure how they'll hold up as we've only had ours for a short time (May 2012) but I'm impressed with it. Plus it has to be the most quiet vac I'vs ever had.

We have 2 Dysons that we got as used. The yellow one has been here about 2 years and the red has been here for about a year and a half. They are amazing vacuums. _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! Join our facebook meetup group!

The longest lasting vacuums I've ever had have been Kenmores. I have a beltless Kenmore upright that has been going strong for 7 years now and still won't quit. That said I have 2 Kenmores (one is the Progressive - 7 yrs old, the other is the Intuition - 8 months old) and a Dyson DC41 Animal (purple one) and the Dyson is definitely lighter, easier to maneuver, and picks up the most. I love my Dyson but I cannot comment on longevity as I've only had mine since March, so we're only 4 months in with ours. _________________

| We've had really good luck with our Shark Navigator, which actually reviews better than the Dyson and is significantly cheaper. I personally haven't used a Dyson so I can't make the comparison myself, but we've been really happy with it. Also, we've only had it a year so the jury is still out on the longevity. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | I have researched some and talked to alot of people. Dyson vacs have a huge following. I am going to try the new Shark Navigator, dont remember number but it comes with pet attachment and on their site is $265. Its the new style that Meredith has. |

Thank you for the quick responses everyone! My cousin has a dyson and swears by it but the reviews do not speak too highly for longevity. Vacuums are expensive nowadays and I just want to make sure I'm spending my money wisely! Looks like I have a tough choice to make. Thank you all!

So I've been reading reviews all over the web, from the Dyson website to consumer reports to amazon to tech things. What I've gathered is most people really don't have that great reviews about the longevity of the Dyson DC41 Animal but are loving there Dyson DC25. I'm really stuck between a rock and a hard place with this one. I think I'm just going to have to take a leap of faith, after trying both out at a store of course and go with my gut!

We have an animal Dyson that must be at least 4-5 years old. It still works great. We mostly use the hose since we only have two rooms that have carpet.

you're going to laugh maybe but I've had the eureka pet vac pro lite for over 2 years and it cost like 50 bucks and it's amazing! there's a newer one out now too and they're bagless, have awesome attachments for fabric and otherwise, and it's lasting! 2 dogs and a cat shed like crazy but it's holding up. I almost got tempted to get a dyson recently but i can't process spending like 600 bucks on a vacuum. 50 bucks. so worth it. has a 2 year warranty too that you can extend upon purchase. totally worth it. the thing is a tank!
