There was a shooting this morning at an elementary school in Connecticut. Reports are saying there are possible 18+ children dead, as well as 9 adults. What the hell is wrong with people today? RIP kids and adults

I really REALLY wish that Will MacEvoy from The Newsroom was real This shooting is unreal. The media is reporting anywhere from 1-27 people are dead.

You guys have no idea... this town is like the smallest of the small. I felt like it was the safest place in the world to grow up. So awful and sad

FYI- This is literally less than 5 miles from the house I grew up in until I left for college. This is the town next to my hometown. In fact, the grocery store that we went to was just about across the street from this school-- that's how close this is to me

What I want to know is, why an elementary school? Why target helpless little kids? I never want anyone getting shot, regardless of age, but really? Kids? It's sickening.

And right before the holidays... I'm literally in tears thinking of those poor families. Unreal.

People are disgusting. I know I'm on a soapbox about judging people before we know the whole story... but screw the whole story this time... there is NO REASON for something like this.

I agree with you, screw the whole story. There's no reason for it. Things like this are exactly why I really thought hard about having a child. I really didn't want to raise a kid in this totally f-up'd world.

not entirely sure but one of the articles I've read so far said he was a parent of one of the kids at the school (not justifying his actions or anything like that, this p**** me off too).

i have not read the story, kind of dont want to, i dont want to know how many are dead, even one is to many, just after the shooting at the mall and being in Colorado with the freaking shooting then the killed girl and the missing boy, its freaking unreal. im sure i will catch it on the news tonight, there is a email now but i dont want to open it.

OMG This is so sad! RIP to those who lost their lives, and I hope the shooter(s) get what's coming to them.

Police aren't informing about total body count until the families have been informed.

Such a sad, twisted world we live in.

ETA: Apparently the shooter was a 20-year old male with "ties to the school"... I cannot even begin to imagine the distress the family and neighbourhood(s) must be feeling.

Honestly, sometimes I'm scared of bringing kids into this world... Who knows what kinds of things could happen to them.

I saw this a couple hours ago and it brought me to tears.

I'm not sure if the shooter committed suicide, but regardless he is dead. What I don't understand is if he was planning on killing himself, why take others down with you? Just kill yourself and especially of all places an elementary school!

That man doesn't realized how many families he's just ruined and how many holiday's will no longer be the same, because of him.

This is really sad, how can someone shoot up an elementary school? It's sick regardless where it happens, but even more so that it was defenseless children. Thinking of all the families that have to deal with a loss like that, and so close to the holidays is awful

Yeah I know. How do you tell your kids it will be safe to go back to school? These kids are going to be traumatized. I don't understand.... Parents aren't going to want to put them in school because of stuff like this... This man no matter what he went through had NO RIGHT! And I am seriously contemplating not having kids. It's not safe.

On our local news in Chicago the newscaster said if you have kids at home, turn off your TV now, and they were talking to a psychologist and said those kids that survived are going to need therapy for quite sometime, perhaps for life. Even those at the school that were not physically injured will still suffer emotionally.

I can barely process how this could happen and I am almost 40 years old, can you imagine trying to process that when your 8?

Some humans are indeed sick. People in this world are fucking horrible. JUST WOW

And even the kids younger than that. I can't imagine the panic of these kids....


The physchologist on tv now is talking about now messed up our mental health care system is in this country. These people DON'T want help but are a threat to society. He shot his mother and father. We all pay the toll because these sick people don't get help.

And he killed his dad and the mom too?!!! I think they just said that they found the younger brother.

This is making me nauseous...

We haven't heard about the brother yet but for sure the mother and father.

Yep, confirmed that they have the younger brother. They think he might have been the 2nd shooter. The shooters girlfriend and friend are missing now too.
