How old is she?

I got my first Husky when he was 11 weeks and my cat was 6 months and they've been best friends ever since. I just let them off in a bedroom together so they were forced to socialized, and it worked. With my other two, they were both over 4 months and they kinda just sniffed him out and they just ignore each other for the most part.

She is only 18 days old right now, I will be getting her the end of March when she is weaned.

Thank you for the advice, I assume keeping them separate would kind of delay the process. So just letting them get adjusted to each other in their own time is the best way to go. I am going to kind of keep them separate at first by a baby gate. So hopefully they will sniff each other out and become buddies in their own time.

Thank you Smile

Yeah definitely don't seperate them, you want your puppy to get accustomed to the cat as quickly as possible Smile Maybe even try getting your cat socialized with dogs, if he/she isn't already before the pupyp comes home

I have 2 cats. They were both exposed to my older dog Samantha. It really depends on the cat. My calico has no fear when it comes to dogs. She'll walk right up to them without a care in the world. My fat cat HATES Lucian. She refused to come out from under my bed for 2 days. I had to move the litter box, food and water up to my bedroom for her. It took her a while to come downstairs too. Any time Lucian comes near her she hisses, and growls at him. She's swatted him in the muzzle a few times as well. But he knows now not to mess with her. He won't try to chase her at all. He lays down until she moves out of his path, lol. I didn't do anything special but monitor them. My cats can escape upstairs, Lucian knows he isn't allowed up there, and he's gated in my kitchen at night, or when we aren't home.
