Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

PostSubject: Update on little Siggy   Update on little Siggy EmptyThu Mar 29, 2018 11:17 pm

Siggy went to the vet today for her first checkup. She got her first booster, worm tested which came back positive for round and hook worm. They gave her a dose of wormer to start killing them off. They gave me Trifexis for fleas and it treats worms and heart worms also so I thought that was awesome sauce. They weighed her and she only weighs 4.6 lbs at 7 weeks which is really small for her age but he says she looks good and as long as she eats good and keeps growing he wont worry too much. She goes back the 19th for second visit. She was such a trooper and i'm so proud of her. Torvi her sister goes with her the 19th for her visit but the vet gave me a sample of the Trifexis for her so she can get started too. Smile He's a great vet. My fluffy butts are slowly getting to where they need to be.

Hookworms are no joke. My gsd mix had them when I first got him. If left untreated for too long they can kill a dog. Most likely the breeder's adults have them so if you are in contact with her you may urge her to have the adults checked. They are passed very easily. Glad Siggy got a clean bill of health. Fingers crossed Torvi does too and that they start showing some good growth.

Yes I let her know. She said shes gonna take care of it but honestly I dont know if she will. I rescheduled Torvis appt to Monday at 4:30 so she can be treated as soon as possible. Weekends my husband works 16s so that was a no go. Siggy has done started passing the round worms. Weve found two huge piles and ever since shes been way more playful. Smile I hope we caught it in time and they start growing.
