| Do your Huskies get hyper in weather?
We have a major storm (for SoCal) overhead and Kona wants to go for ANOTHER walk. When he realized that's not happening (it's raining hard), he decided to sprint from bedroom to living room a dozen times. Right now he's getting babies out of the basket and burying them in the couch...who needs TV???
He always wants his regular walks, but weather seems to really charge him up!
Any of this familiar? |

| When they were younger and we had carpet throughout the house we would get some zoomie sessions inside. Now that we've installed hard flooring throughout that doesn't happen as much. Kye will sometimes have a moment where he will pirouette and grunt around the large area rug in the living room. Basically just bounces from one corner of the rug to the other, to the other, to the other grunting at each corner. It's funny but doesn't happen often enough for me to capture it on video. _________________ |

| Ami is zoomie king if he doesn't have regular play time with my son's dog, Archer. Bounces from couch to couch to chair, room to room. Or, the night time version, up on our bed, down, out the bedroom door, around the corner, into the bathroom hall door, out the bathroom bedroom door, back up onto our bed repeat in rapid sequence at least 4-5 times. Once initiated, humans best just stand out of the way. And make arrangements for another Archer playdate. |

| Haha! I figured! So much fun!
I new a big storm was coming, so I took Kona on our longer track (about 2.5 miles) to try to mellow him a bit and so we could watch the storm come in. The Channel Islands (20 miles away) slowly disappeared behind a curtain of rain, lightning and thunder while we were on our last leg. Real weather is rare in this neck of the woods, so this was a TREAT! We came home and started dinner, seemed like the walk had settled Kona and he was ready to kick back...
The first squall hit all at once - BIG drops falling hard on the roof grabbed Kona's attention. He stared at the ceiling for a minute, then trotted over to the pantry (where his walking gear is) and looked expectantly at me - uh oh.
First he began talking about it, "I want to go out in this!!!". Next my forearm was in his mouth, "Come check out my leash!" When that didn't work, he started zooming from our bed, down the hall, around, on, and OVER the couch, spins, circles, barks, yips, and a few stops to talk to us about it, "C'mon let's Goooooooo" Before he resigned himself to his bed, he grabbed his favorite babies and stuffed them into the crack of the couch.
We have no idea what was on TV that night - Kona was more entertainment than a 3 ring circus! |
