| We recently adopted a husky from a divorcing family. She's sweet and beautiful, but has a short tail. It looks like a docked tail..maybe eight inches long. The previous owners said that she was bitten as a puppy, but the vet seemed to think this unlikely. Any ideas, or anyone seen this before? Just curious. Also, thanks for this forum...it's been a lot of help as we adjust to our new family member...including affirming my suspicion that my daily runs with her are the key to her fabulous behavior!! |

| Pictures would help as i've seen some Siberians with just naturally shorter tails. | Claudia's dog storm, who is a large scale husky, has a really short tail, especially for his size. I would say 8 or 9 inches is probably about what it is? |

I think longer than that - it just look that short because he's big! But he can't curl his tail like all other huskies! _________________ ![Short tail in husky 41765413](https://i.servimg.com/u/f45/15/75/71/64/41765413.jpg) |

| Here's Storm, and this is about as much as he can curl his tail. ![Short tail in husky Raw_ma12](https://i.servimg.com/u/f45/15/75/71/64/raw_ma12.jpg) _________________ ![Short tail in husky 41765413](https://i.servimg.com/u/f45/15/75/71/64/41765413.jpg) |

| Here's another picture for reference. It may be more like 12 inches long, but Storm is tall and long...I think his height measurement is 25-26 inches tall, and length is 34-35 inches from base of neck to base of tail. ![Short tail in husky Raw_ma13](https://i.servimg.com/u/f45/15/75/71/64/raw_ma13.jpg) _________________ ![Short tail in husky 41765413](https://i.servimg.com/u/f45/15/75/71/64/41765413.jpg) |

| I was figuring it's a little bit less than half as long as him from shoulder to ground.. now you have to measure when you get home! |

| No pics convenient to put up, but 8 inches was a poor guess. It's more like 4-5. The upside is not having to deal with a tail knocking things (like our toddler!) over ![Smile](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |
