Hi guys! I thought I'd start a scrapbook thread of my pup Indy. I'm relatively new to the forum, I've read a few threads to help with my pup and I figured I'd introduce the two of us! (: I'm a second-time husky mom, Indy is my second boy (I'll start a thread for my first husky) and he just turned 7 months old today. He's quite the goofball and I love him with all of my heart. He's saved me from some very tough times and I owe him everything. I hope you guys enjoy him as much as I do! I love you

The first day I brought him home.

Great looking husky! My one stick his head into the sofa like that as well - or he will stick it anywhere he can to conceal it (between my arm and leg when he is on my lap) - i just think they are doing a scared ostrich impression!

Jennet, Embry is very handsome. I'm still waiting for Indy to grow into his ears haha.

Indy loves to stick his head into anything he can squeeze into pretty much. He's gotten to where he likes to "dive" into the couch.

And Indy doesn't have to impersonate an ostrich! He might as well be part chicken! He's scared of anything that moves almost, but he's getting better (:

Well today I had an off day from work and Indy and I went for a walk in the park.

He loves the park, but we don't get to go often. It's the park in town and apparently "dogs aren't allowed", yet they let little dogs and cattle dogs run around off leash barking at people. (Indy is never allowed off his leash and he is very well mannered) There was a little yapper there today running loose while we were walking around.

The weather was perfect, about 50-55 degrees with a cool breeze. Indy had a blast and now he's tuckered out on the floor at my feet (:

Indy at almost 7.5 months old (today)

That's a gorgeous collar! Where did you find it?

Glad you guys were able to have a good time despite the little yapper...

Thank you! I found it at a local store called Puppy Love here in Texas. You can probably find one online similar to it. It's all real leather buckle collar banded together with leather string and hand stitched beads and some stamped metal. I fell in love with it because it's heavy and durable yet striking! I'm pretty sure it's a female collar, but don't tell Indy! (;

Here's a better picture of it...
Introducing Indy ***Updated 12/20/12*** IMG_0140

People around here (I live in a small town) have absolutely no idea nor seem to care about the welfare/lives of dogs and the dangers it can cause to them or to others. Every dog I see is running around loose whether it be a puppy or grown dog.
Even at the dog park out of town I've had a guy stop me from entering with Indy because he had two pitbulls and yelled at me not to come in because they would attack us. Why bring your dogs to a DOG PARK if they're aggressive?! UGH! I would have said something to him but it was a bigger older guy and I was by myself....I have a nasty temper and I get in trouble a lot because of it lol. Especially when it comes to my dogs.

Sorry about the rant...

Wow dude... Is there any oversight on that dog park? If so I'd call and complain if that ever happens again. It's not just small town Texas either, people had a super cavalier attitude about dogs in Oklahoma City as well. We had a neighbor that had a problem dog, and if you get into the outlying metro area there are always loose dogs roaming around. I'd see them a lot driving to work, and I had friends who had HUGE stray dog problems.

I'm not sure, I've only been a few times and I don't plan on going back. It seemed really nice at first, but now when I go there are dogs there that have socialization issues (like mouthing on people and other dogs and getting a little over excited when playing and becoming aggressive. The owner just laid in the grass reading the paper while I'm trying to wave him over to get his dog under control). Problem is that's the only licensed dog park within an hours drive on the interstate from me. I usually just bring Indy running and hiking on trails and walking throughout the town. But if we do go back and something like that happens again, with the same guy/dogs or not, I'll be calling or going to report it in person.

Yeah, we have a bad stray issue around here. It's sad, especially since we have some very busy roads coming through...

Here are a few collars that are kinda like Indy's.

These are pretty and have a variety of colors, but it's not leather.
http://www.doggiestylish.com/store/index.php?page=shop.product_details&category_id=14&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=70&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=64

These are very pretty and a lot cheaper than the one I have for Indy...I wish I would have found this one!
http://www.doggiestylish.com/store/index.php?page=shop.product_details&category_id=14&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=70&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=64

Here's another leather one very similar to Indy's, but it would be shipping out of the UK.
