If I could like your comment I would, Lunatic Fringe! That's why we ended up getting Willow. There are TONS of huskies in our area. I'm absolutely disgusted with it. We actually have a guy who picks up huskies for cheap, and then turns around and sells them for twice what he paid for them. Its all over our Craigslist :/

That's so sick and twisted!! I wish I could rescue all the craigslist huskies, and later find them all new homes!!
They all look so sad and unhealthy. Breaks my heart.  

I don't even understand the point of a rehoming fee to begin with... I understand if it is from a shelter or a non-profit, but why does an individual need a rehoming fee? If they bought the dog and realized they couldn't care for her/him shouldn't they have to eat that cost for being irresponsible? Can someone explain why anyone would need a rehoming fee??

I think the idea of the small rehoming fee was to deter people from getting a bunch of free bait dogs, but what some people ask for is ridiculous

My friend rescued her husky off Craigslist a 3 months old, same deal people got her but then realized they couldn't take care of her...idk how people can pick up a dog at 8weeks old, give them a couple weeks and then say they can't keep them. My friends dog is much better off with them now she's very spoiled and loved!

I have found both of my girls off of craigslist. Micole was 8 weeks old when they decided they didn't want her as well. Sophia is almost 3 years old but she more behaved than any of my puppys.

This is a shame. 9 year old girl, just because you switch shifts at work. Ugh.

I wish I could say trading horses for dogs is out of the normal but it's really not. It's the part about not wanting anything older than 6 WEEKS that gets me though.

I would see if your state has a law against selling puppies before 8 weeks old; and if so, email that info to them. Maybe explain puppies are harder to handle when taken away from the mother so early.

I thought about that. I'm actually in Missouri and not Oklahoma but I imagine they have about as much law for it as we do, which isn't much, but I have been going back and forth on whether to send them a friendly email. They certainly don't show much knowledge of dogs if they want them that early.

From the looks of things Oklahoma has no laws against selling before 8 weeks. Still a horrible idea though.

Ugh.... one of my biggest pet peeves are those who are too lazy to brush their dog so they shave them. Poor thing. I used to go to CoMo at least once a month....

Shaved! I didn't even think about that when I saw the dog. I've never seen the results of a shave job. That's just...oh my.

Saw this poor pup on CL. She's quite pretty. I never seen a husky with her coloring, so not sure if she could be mixed, really dirty or just unique coloring. She doesn't even look more than 1yr.

A shame people are "selling" off they're dogs. i can understand needing to rehome them but... the way this ad is worded it just seems like they're saying "i can stand my dog anymore and want to cut my losses, but i want to make cash off of it while im at it."

I had to stop reading our local CL because every time I see one I want to "save" it. One thing I DO really like is our local Humane Society will post ads on CL saying something to the effect of "The breed you are searching for is searching for you" and will list the title such as HUSKY, or LAB, etc and then a link to all of the shelter dogs that are in that class.

I wish I could go get her. She really looks like she needs out of this place.

It makes me sad to even look at CL. 75% of the people there have the mindset of, "I had him for 6 months and spent $50 in food, I want that much for him because that's what I spent on him!"
